For your tool kit - Greater Good in Action

Here's a dandy website to include in your Expansive Living tool kit - Greater Good in Action, from UC/Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center.

A recent Huffington Post article, 41 Science-Based Actions for a Meaningful Life, introduced me to the wonders of GGSC, Greater Good in Action & Hope Lab.  Great site to share with our families & friends, regardless of age.

The folks at UC/Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center (GGSC) believe that  happiness, resilience, connection, kindness aren't just core qualities of a well-lived life.  They believe  they're "skills young & old can learn develop nurture over time.  And they back up that belief with dozens of ways to use research-based activities to enrich our lives with compassion gratitude mindfulness & much more.   Not shabby!

A terrific site to use solo, in partnership with another, even as a family.  Imagine using the different qualities as prompts for intergeneration discussion!

According to the folks at the Greater Good Science Center, "The practices in Greater Good in Action are for anyone who wants to improve his or her social and emotional well-being, or the well-being of others, but doesn't necessarily have the time or money to invest in a formal program."  Their intended purpose?  To "serve as building blocks for creating your own happiness regimen."

Take Note:  Greater Good in Action is NOT a substitute for therapy, does NOT serve as a form of mental health treatment.  Folks suffering from a potential mental disorder are advised to talk with a trained mental health professional.  The activities included under Greater Good in Action are supplemental, not primary!
