"Deep, rich & loving"

Deep, rich & loving - that's how someone described my little hometown.  
And it can be.  
 

It's my heart's desire to do all within my power to burnish our beloved borough's heritage of wise aging, nurture inter-generational connections that cut across clans & through family ties, interweaving the amazing energies found throughout our community.  Deep, rich & loving - that embodies everything I hold most dear, that I long to see be everyone's exquisite experience.  To help us come together to BE the image so many hold dear in our hearts.  

Call me a cockeyed optimist, but I can see a cozy little community where people who love to sing or play are on tap to swing past a shut-in's home to sing hymns or maybe greet new parents with a sweet selection of lullabies. 

Where a large, alternating roster of families, friends & fans band together to host monthly thank you events for "living treasure" role models & mentors. 

Where ALL ages gather into Wise Aging circles.  

Where we are inspired by the awesome Boro Park summer concerts to offer any-season Poetry & Storytelling Slams.  

 

Where we expand the Be Well concerts/art exhibits into TED Talk-ish events presented by & promoting our schools - starting small, growing larger & larger, mayhaps ultimately into the Mitchell Performing Arts Center!

Personally, it's a point of pride that our once somewhat insular little hometown has spread its wings over the past decades.  Alas, the reality is that not everyone feels the  deep, rich loving.  But we can get there!  The Appreciative Inquiry process got the ball rolling.  Our local farm market embraces vendors, browsers & buyers from far beyond our borders.  Pay It Forward lives up to its name as it fills all it does with massive TLC.   

Now, it's time for this genuinely grassroots movement to move even further forward.  

What do we do that's GREAT?  Where can we put our attention & renewed efforts to ensure that every one of us can say with the same joy & amazement as my friend, "Our community is so much more, so rich, deep and loving."
