A little child shall lead them...

On Saturday, my dearest wish was for my eyes to be a video camera.  John & I had gone to a grannie client's senior residence to whisk her off for dinner downstairs, at a table surrounded by friends & pleasant acquaintances, in full view of in-full-bloom cherry trees.

She was not in her apartment!  We followed the sound of fun to where she & eight or nine of her 4th floor neighbors were engrossed in a delightful game of Hit The Balloon With The "Pool Noodle."

The smiles on one & all were priceless.

There weren't any cats there -
this is just the closest
I could find to
describe the
moment.

What would have been a good activity at any other time was sheer bliss - a darling little girl, around 4 years old, was leading the fun, throwing the balloon into the center of the ring of elderly men & women, who had a wonderful time batting it about, watching her dart here & there to retrieve it.

It wasn't clear then, it's still not, who was the more delighted - the little girl in the darling dress ~or~ the oldsters she held in the palm of her little hand.

When Stuart Brown talks about the power of play, THIS is what he means - fully engaged, out-of-body glee.

Three cheers for the staff for making the moment happen - it personifies the very best of Personal Care!
