Looking ahead - Caroline Myss, Omega/Rhinebeck

Hands down, the 2015 workshop I long to attend about all others is Caroline Myss' at Omega in late October - What You Need to Know to Navigate Change in Your Life.

Small wonder - it speaks to me on every level.  What I need to know & do myself, how I can help open a way for friends of all ages to embrace whatever changes come their way, how to help especially older friends see change as an ally, a catalyst for even better.

Reading the catalogue description of the workshop got me pondering the two types of changes the great Ms. Myss describes as governing the flow of events in our lives - the ones we imaging & wish to happen, the ones that life initiates on our behalf.  In many ways, I was one of the lucky ones who learned early in my life that there are are fewer of the first than the second.  My career path didn't go anything like what I expected, nor did any others - they keep turning out way better than anything I could have imagined.

Much of what the is covered in the workshop is familiar, welcome ground - developing the clarity to make quick decisions, especially under challenging situations or in unknown territory;  moving with forces of change rather than stubbornly resisting;  considering which beliefs might be making change traumatic rather than triumphant; using empowerment tools to support or shift aspects of my life.

On the other hand, things like "understanding the mysteries of prayer & grace" are both largely unknown to me & strongly beckon.  Several years back, John  & I have reached out to friends for support getting through a financially different stretch in our lives.  We are forever grateful to the friends who chipped in to help us stay in place, to regain our grounding, but both of us believe that it was - infinitely more than the money people generously gave - the loving, supportive prayers & thoughts of many friends surrounding us that got us to the promise of today. I'd love to understand that better.

What fun it would be to talk with Caroline about intuition.  Over & over, I've experienced how older friends seem much more accepting than youngers of  heeding their intuition, recognizing profound things coming from deep inside with no apparent no connection to things learned from teachers, ministers, parents.  It feels like the more they trusted this inner knowledge & let it emerge, the happier they are.  Fingers crossed!

What You Need to Know to Navigate Change in Your Life - Oct 23-25, 2015, Omega Rhinebeck campus.  Looking forward to being there!
