honoring wishes

Image result for wishes

During our last visit, a week before she died, my sister handed me ONE picture of herself, one taken when she was around 3 years old, laughing & joyful.  It was the ONLY picture my sister has ever seemed to take special joy in sharing.

Mim did not like pictures of herself.  To me, she was saying that one shot  - capturing the innermost, often hidden, joy-filled Missy - was best for her memorial tribute.

Others feel differently, suggesting we add more.  I am reluctant.  We're including examples of Mim's wonderful line art, which truly does express my sister's being.  But photos?  They capture the outside.  And Mim was never comfortable with her outside.  Not ever.

Here's hoping we honor my sister's wishes & let that little girl, full of smiles & happiness, remind each of us of the Mim who touched our lives.
