...the more I appreciate that there are issues that would never have registered on my radar that are identifiable & waiting to be addressed during my third act.
It's not that I missed them earlier; lacked the discernment. The older I get, the richer my life experiences.
As a dear friend & mentor would say, freshly made soup is tasty, but lacks the depth of soup that's been resting for several days.
Freshly made soup might be at its greatest nutritional value, but soup that's been simmering, has rested a day or more - oh, the greater satisfaction it can yield! My stock is deepening, its flavors growing richer as the savories & spices, the bounty of all I've added chemically meld, possible only with time. Ready to ladle up a bowl!
