For the public good
Six months ago, I wrote about being deeply rooted - through my family, church, community, natural inclinations - to the concept of pro bono publico. For the public good. My posting noted, "It is my belief that we are all called to do all we can for individuals as well as for the common good, that private good contributes to, supports public good."
Within the next few weeks, I'll be submitting my first of what might easily be annual "crowdfund" requests, seeking contributions to help me do MORE pro bono work, purchase more books, more classic dvds to watch with older friends or informational ones to get me more up to speed, attend more conferences/workshops/retreats touching on expansive living, get a 2nd car (one that can accommodate a wheelchair).
It's exciting & feels so right, saying, "Here's what I want to do. How much, if any, gets done depends on whether others see its value, too."
Pretty cool, being able to give others an opportunity to feel the rush of acting for the public good, always remembering that the best support is the most intangible - offering up caring thoughts & heartfelt prayers.
