Leaf peeping - springtime version

For months, an older friend has been longing for the day when leaves would begin appearing on barren winter branches.  

Last week....

Yesterday, John & I took her on an early evening leaf-peeping ramble!  We expected bright green willows, to spot trees fuzzy with leaf buds, offering the promise of bigger & better next week, maybe even the rare bush with actual tiny green leaves.  We did NOT expect to find four (4!) trees in bedecked in delicate pink blossoms!!

 

This week...

It was a grey early evening, damp & raw, but all around us was the promise of warmth, of sunshine, of shady trees & luscious blooms.
