UNregrettable

Image result for regrets

A life without ANY regrets isn't a life.  A life lived with the assumption of regrets - that's grievous.

Was hit hard today with the startling realization that a teeny smidgen of negative expectations - a soft whisper of anticipated regret - still clung to the underside of my upbeat path forward.

Especially clinging to the work around Values, Vision, Dreams.  Was a shocker, noticing the wisp of worry around spiking interest among the aged, elderly & ancient in connecting with current values, identifying their here & now personal vision, celebrating & pursuing dreams.  "What good will it do to have an effective, uplifting, affirming template IF no one wants to step through it?"

DEEV - get a hold of yourself!  It's probable there will be regrets as its developed - better content, more effective tweaks - but the only UNregrettable thing will be not putting my all into making it happen.

This isn't trivial.  EVERYONE, whatever his or her age, should live as fully in each moment as circumstances allow, should be clear on what matters most to them right now, should be pursuing large & small dreams & goals, whether they're closing in on 65, topping 80, or celebrating the big 100.  Should be like the men & women whose lives touched mine so profoundly throughout my life, should be like the ones I cheer lead into being awake & aware.

Really shook me up, discovering how okay I was with falling short. To help bring me around & keep me on course, am tweaking the lyrics to one of my favorite Nat King Cole classics, which I've spun into Unregrettable...

Values Vision Dreams

Unregrettable
That's what you are,
Unregrettable
Tho' near or far.

Like a song of hope that clings to me,
How the thought of you does things to me.
Never before
Has something been more...

Unregrettable
In every way,
And forever more
That's how you'll stay.

That's why, sweet muse, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks this work is
Unregettable, too.
