Okay, I stand
corrected. As several friends pointed
out, there ARE books in my future, writing IS my calling. Just not books
looking back. One finger-wagger chastised, “Girl, you're filled
with books – they’re just all present tense.”
Which got
me re-pondering strengths & interests & life waiting to be
seized. My views on aging have zip to
do with perceived weaknesses, problems, or even eldering malaise. They totally focus on the unique opportunities,
wisdom & flat-out joy that come only with growing older, especially growing what
we term “old.”
Duh! Duh!
& mega Duh! I don’t
have in me the sort of book that beckoned Erin Tierney Kramp, Reb Zalman or Ram
Dass. There are the sort only
I can write. Turns out my blog post is a kick in the
pants to write down the bones!
There are
books waiting to be written, by me.
First up – Gram-FAM-boly!, a
smattering of memory makers for youngers of all ages to do with “grandparents, great-aunts & uncles, and other grand friends.” I first wrote about grand plans for penning Gram-FAM-boly! six months ago – time to STOP thinking of myself as a non-author & get cracking!

Mere
coincidence that this AH HA! awareness hit in February? Bosh!
The shortest month has long been my most insightful, powerful. Which is why it’s essential that I pen & submit my first-ever crowdfund request before it’s
over!
Follow my own advice ~ instead of
seeing what isn’t, focus on what is.
Make the most of what’s in front of me, clearing/creating new avenues for the
amazing to appear & open.
It’s tempting to think Mom’s name is more likely to get on a best seller list
than mine - let's ME off the hook, to forget that I speak intergeneration – write about that. I loving doing everyday things with oldsters
& the elderly that make life uncommonly fun.– write about that. My great talent is being the Mame Dennis of eldering, helping others live! live! live! – write about that.
And start NOW, today.
Can’t get more present tense than that!
