Sly does it again! Per Rotten Tomatoes, the critics' consensus* is that "Creed brings the Rocky franchise off the mat for a surprisingly effective seventh round that extends the boxer's saga in interesting new directions while staying true to its classic predecessors' roots. The film's focus is on Apollo Creed's son, Adonis Johnson, & his trainer - Rocky Balboa, who's helping the kid slug his way into the top tier.
And this newest entry into the Rocky franchise is, like the first, a love letter to Philadelphia, including an introduction to many Greater Philadelphia residents to the stunning Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk, while old fogies (like yours truly) will stomp & whistle at the film's shout out to The Electric Factory, and many more Philly nooks & crannies.
Enjoy the flick, savor our great city, be flat-out IMPRESSED & inspired by the wonder that
is 69-year old Sylvester Stallone, who's been teaching us for almost
forty (40!!) years that just because you're down doesn't mean you're
out!
