Pairing TLC with LTC

Only my wealthiest client's families don't have to take a long, hard look at how much care they want me to provide a loved one - some, a lot or practically none?  Is my connection limited to taking them out to meals, heading out on occasional jaunts, or regular full-throttle engagement?

The challenge they face is that my sort of care isn't covered under most - maybe all - long term care policies.  LTC policies are generally limited working through a certified providers who use as much or more of the client's fees for administrative costs as for actual care provided; covers meal prep, medicine delivery, custodial company but denies flagrant socializing, friendly companionship, driving for the sheer & glorious fun of it.  It supports what will enable someone's continued existence & little more.

Which is - excuse my language - hogwash.

They provide enough medical care for someone to stay alive, but deny the energies needed for full function, to extend life while doing squat to restore promote expand LIVING.

Praise be, I worked for over 20 years for traditional & cutting edge health care benefits providers.

I remember how hard they fought including preventive care services, in spite of it massively reducing costs by preventing the need.

I remember how hard they fought including preventive care services, in spite of it massively reducing costs by preventing the need.

I remember how hard they fought covering mental health services.

It is shocking, looking back, to see how many of today's standard benefits were hard won in spite of making complete sense to all but the entrenched insurance provider.  There isn't a doubt in my mind that Long Term Care benefit providers will FINALLY realize that the very sort of services I provide are exactly what will help their policy holders delay racking up mega expensive end-of-life expensives.

Some day, hopefully soon, the powers-that-be will realize the cost advantage to their stock holders of integrating my sort of TLC into their LTC benefit coverages!
